Dr. George W Cobb Jr
 George
W. Cobb Jr., a graduate of Houston Baptist University, received his DDS
Degree from the University of Texas Dental School in San Antonio. In 1988,
following six years private practice as a General Dentist in Houston, he was
accepted for a two year Prosthodontic residency at San Antonio for specialty
training in crowns, bridges and dentures. Following his graduation from the
two-year residency, he became a Prosthodontic faculty member at the
University of Mississippi, where he was recognized for his excellence in
teaching. During his academic career, he received numerous teaching honors
including both Pre-Clinical and Clinical Teacher of the year awards.
A number of peer reviewed
dental journals have published numerous articles by Dr. Cobb. These journals
include the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, the Journal of Prosthodontics,
the Journal of General Dentistry, the Journal of Dental Technology, and the
Journal of Dental Research.
While at the University of
Mississippi, Dr. Cobb became a Board Certified Diplomate of the American
Board of Prosthodontics and a Fellow of the American College of
Prosthodontists.
In 2001, Dr. Cobb became a
member of the Prosthodontic faculty at the University of Texas Dental School
in Houston. He taught Prosthodontics there until August 2003 when he
returned to a full time private practice. He continues as an Adjunct
Professor at the University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston.
Dr. Cobb is currently in a
full-time private practice of Prosthodontics. He also lectures to several
dental study clubs in the Houston area.
